Giro Classico presents this Mercedes 250 SL Pagoda for sale, a 1967 example of the W113 series. The world knows this roadster as the Pagoda for the concave line of its hardtop, drawn by Paul Bracq. Introduced at the 1967 Geneva Motor Show, the 250 SL had already entered production in December 1966 and ended in January 1968. It is therefore the shortest-lived and rarest version of the W113 range, with approximately 5,196 cars built. In addition, it was the first Pagoda with disc brakes on all four wheels, paired with a new 2.5-litre fuel-injected inline-six of about 150 hp. As a result, it combines the lightness of the early SLs with more torque and refinement. For a comparison with the 230 SL and 280 SL, see our page on the 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL W113 already sold.
1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL Pagoda for Sale Presented by Giro Classico
This specific car was produced on 23 November 1967 for the European market. It was originally finished in DB050 white with DB2310 medium blue interior and DB6314 blue bouclé carpet, the combination it wears again today. Giro Classico has handled it before, and it is now available again. Between 2018 and 2020, it received a total, fully documented restoration. The car was completely dismantled and fully stripped of its paint. Then every area was rebuilt with the same care, from the structure to the interior. Since then, it has covered only 3,000 km.

A Total Restoration, from Body to Instruments
Most of the restoration time went into the body. The structure is one of the most delicate areas of the W113 Pagoda, and many structural parts were replaced. To make sure everything fits as the original, the body spent many hours on the jig, where each panel was welded and checked to the millimetre. The bonnet, boot lid and doors keep their original numbered panels, with the correct body numbers, a detail collectors highly value.

The mechanics received the same attention. The original engine was completely dismantled, with new liners and pistons to ensure perfect efficiency, and the aluminium cylinder head was overhauled. The mechanical injection pump was also fully overhauled and now carries six new mechanical injectors. In addition, the front axle, rear axle and gearbox were overhauled, while the braking system has new rigid and flexible lines.
The finishing completes the work. All the brightwork was rechromed, while the front and rear bumpers and the grille are new in stainless steel, a sound alternative to the original chrome-plated steel with practically unlimited durability. The interior, soft top and carpets were remade to the original specification, with new padding and mechanisms in perfect working order. The dashboard and glovebox woodwork is also new. Finally, the electrical system and the instruments were overhauled and work perfectly.
DB050 White over Medium Blue Leather
The bodywork wears the original factory DB050 white, paired with Medium Blue leather seats (DB2310) and blue bouclé carpets (DB6314). These are the colours in which the car was built. The contrast is elegant and sophisticated, perfectly in keeping with Mercedes-Benz style in the 1960s.

Documentation and Certification
As with every car offered by Giro Classico, the restoration is fully documented. The car comes with:
- Mercedes-Benz Data Card documentation supplied from Stuttgart;
- a detailed photographic book of more than 400 images;
- Italian registration;
- ASI certification with the Gold Plate (Targa Oro).
